Hot Rocky Salumbides is a filipino supermodel, dubbed by ABS-CBN as the First Pinoy Ford Model (Really? Brent Chua please don’t be mad). But before he set his foot to supermodeldom he started out as a balut (boiled chicken egg embryo) vendor, he hadn't graduated college, (and I suppose, If you ever reached this level of stardom, quitting college is just like refusing a buck over a grand), for financial reasons. His mother, as of my knowing, has diabetes by the way. Thanks to his Chinese and Puerto Rican ancestry he now is a supermodel.
He was discovered by a scout on a mall, if I remembered correctly (his interview on Rated K), and then joined a model search. Poof! All of the sudden he modeled for famous couturiers like Gucci, Dior, D & G and etc.
He was being dubbed as The First Pinoy Ford Model (when Brent Chua really was the first and Charo Ronquillo as second, Verns Buckley as third, I think) by ABS-CBN based on their poor research. He even said he was discovered by Jinky Illusorio as he was playing basketball with his friends (who’s the inconsistent here? me or him?).
